Faciliitor Bios:

David Schreiner has discovered a profound love for traditional West African drumming, rhythms, and instrument building. He grew up in a family of musicians and craftsman, and is now using those roots to support and contribute to a growing drumming community in the Central Pennsylvania area. He takes every opportunity to study with Guinean master drummer Fode Lavia Camara, and through keen observation and practice, he is beginning to model drumming sound quality and techniques indicative of that region. David is the lead drummer for a weekly African dance class in Harrisburg Pa, and has become a sought after craftsman in the art of drum restoration and repair.

Paul Howard played congas and taught traditional Afro-Latin percussion from 1991 to 1997 with The Rosegardeners in Buffalo, NY. The Rosegardeners primarily existed to teach the uplifting culture of hand drumming, and Paul instructed under master percussionist, dancer, and choreographer Synyer Haynesworth in many conga workshops. Stage performances included the World University Games, the Buffalo Latin Music Festival, and opening for Alan Ginsberg at the inauguration of the University at Buffalo Center of the Arts.
